Educating Leaders of Tomorrow

Do you remember your favorite teacher in school? The one who made you look forward to going to school every day? The person who always went that extra mile?

Developed by the New York Lottery and local television stations across the state, the New York Lottery Educator of the Week promotion recognizes excellence in teaching, encourages creative and quality instruction and honors those educators who continuously put the educational and developmental needs of their students first.

Here's how the program works.

A local television partner solicits recommendations for outstanding teachers and administrators from schools and viewers, selects the educator to be featured, produces a video segment of each educator and airs it throughout the week.

Educator of the Week runs from October through June on a weekly basis and features a video segment highlighting a local educator and his or her accomplishments.

Check with your local station to see if nominations are still being accepted.
