How to Play Pick 10
Play Pick 10 at any of the 15,000 retail agents in New York to give yourself a shot at the $500,000 top prize. Alternatively, you now have the option to choose your numbers online and order tickets via a lottery courier. Find out below how to play at a retailer or how to play through a courier.
Draws take place daily at 8:30 PM ET, but ticket sales close at 8:00 PM ET so be sure to get to your retailer early enough to beat the deadline – and the lines!

Playing at a Retailer
- 1To start, head to any NY Lottery retailer. If you’re new to the game or just not sure which numbers to play, speak to the retailer and ask for a Quick Pick. A set of numbers will be generated at random, making it a really easy way to play!
- 2If you know which numbers you want to play, pick up a playslip. As the name of the game suggests, you have to pick 10 numbers. The range goes from 1 to 80, so just mark the numbers you want with a black or blue pen, or a pencil. There are five game panels on a playslip – Game A to Game E – so you can choose up to five sets of numbers at a time if you wish.
- 3At the side of the playslip there is a section where you can indicate how many consecutive days you want to play, from 1 to 7. If you leave this blank you will automatically be entered into the next available draw only.
- 4When you’re happy with your selections, take your playslip to the clerk or insert it into the NYL vending machine. Pick 10 costs just $1 per play. Take your ticket and keep it safe until the draw takes place.
Play It Again
Another great option if you’re visiting a retailer is to ‘Play It Again’. This feature allows you to hand in an old ticket – provided it is from the last 30 days – and receive an identical one with all the same selections, starting from the next available draw. If you always play the same numbers, this is a quick way to play.
Playing Through a Lottery Courier
Did you know that you don’t need to visit a retailer to play the lottery? Whether it’s because you won’t get chance to visit a store, the weather is bad or because it’s just easier to stay at home, you can order tickets online instead. How Pick 10 Draws Work
While Pick 10 requires you to choose 10 numbers, there are actually 20 numbers from 1 to 80 selected in each draw. The results are generated using traditional draw machines and numbered balls.
